Jenkins Bullies Brown

Terry 'The Bull' Jenkins fired his way into the third round with a win over Steve Brown. Jenkins won the first eight legs before Brown finally won one and went onto make it 2-1. Despite another mid-game lapse from Jenkins, the Bull managed to wake up again and surge to a 4-1 victory with Brown fighting him all the way.

Jenkins will meet Walsh in the third round after his afternoon opener against Alan Tabern. Walsh missed six darts to win the first set and most definitely played on his mind as Tabern took a 2-0 lead. That was only the start of it as Walsh recovered to make it 2-2 and then 3-3. The final set has to be won by two clear legs and Walsh took it all the way. This time it was Tabern to miss the doubles to win it to allow Walsh to take the final set 6-4 to win 4-3.

The other match this afternoon saw Vincent Van Der Voort race past Wayne Jones. The first set was over after just five minutes despite four legs being played with the Dutchman taking it. Jones equalised before Van Der Voort moved into a 3-1 lead. Jones pulled another set back but that would prove to be a mere consolation as Van Der Voort won the game 4-2.
