Liverpool Raul Without Torres and Birmingham Get Ziggy With It

After the drama yesterday, today's Super Sunday had no chance of carrying on where yesterday left off. This resulted in both installments having only one goal each to separate the sides. We first travelled to Upton Park where West Ham re-ran their League Cup semi-final with Birmingham. West Ham won the leg in the cup but lost the tie and were looking to seek revenge today. It didn't happen though as the deadlock was broken after 65 minutes with Zigic scoring the winner. The win moves Birmingham out of the relegation and up to sixteenth.

The second installment was all about one man; Fernando Torres. Torres was making his Chelsea debut at home to former employers Liverpool. But the hype may have got to him because he didn't really feature and although the scripts were writing themselves, Torres fluffed his lines which resulted in him being substituted in the second half. Minutes later the deadlock was broken by the in form Raul Meireles after 69 minutes. The win sees Liverpool overtake Sunderland into sixth place.

In other news, Roberto Di Matteo has surprisingly been sacked by West Brom. It comes as a shock and many people feel it is the wrong decision.
