One Point Away

Sebastien Vettel secured another straight forward victory to put himself just one point away from winning the Drivers' Championship. It was virtually a repeat of Monza as the action behind Vettel was nail biting from start to finish. It could have slightly different as Button started to catch him towards the end but it was too little to late as traffic compromised any chances of a last lap shoot-out.

Not for the first time this season, Hamilton had the most eventful race. It had started in qualifying when by suffering a puncture in one of his super soft tyres, therefore losing a set for the race. The McLaren then had a poor start in the race as he dropped to eighth but was able to push past Schumacher and Rosberg a lot easier than in Monza. He then ended Massa's race, not for the first time, by cutting in to early and puncturing the Ferrari's right rear tyre, Hamilton suffered major front wing damage. Fortunately Massa was able to continue and finish in the points, but not as high as he would have liked.

Hamilton received yet another drive through penalty for his conduct and came back out in twentieth place. Hamilton was helped though on lap twenty-nine when Schumacher misjudged Perez's braking zone and flew over the top before crashing into the barrier. Fortunately no-one was injured and the Safety Car had to be deployed.

After the Safety Car, Vettel had soon rebuilt his impressive lead over the rest of the pack. Hamilton was able to make it back to fifth with Di Resta producing a fantastic race to finish sixth. Result in full:
