QPR Sentenced Without Bale But Newcastle Still Feeling WonderBa

With eight games already taken place on Saturday, it left just one game for Super Sunday and another for last night's Halloween Monday Night Football. QPR travelled to fellow Londoners Tottenham on Sunday with neutrals hoping for a similar result to Saturday's London derby. Unfortunately that didn't happen as Tottenham bossed the first half. Paddy Kenny did his best to keep Spurs out for twenty minutes but Bale manged to break the deadlock to give Tottenham a well deserved lead. Van der Vaart made it 2-0 twelve minutes before half-time to score his fifth goal in successive matches. QPR looked brighter in the second half and got themselves back in it with Bothroyd making it 2-1 after 62 minutes but Bale restored Spurs' two goal advantage ten minutes later to give Tottenham the win.

Monday Night Football was hosted at the Britannia as Stoke played Newcastle. But Newcastle managed to keep their unbeaten start to the league as referee Mike Dean had a Halloween he'd want to forget. Demba Ba continued his fantastic Premiership goalscoring record up by breaking the deadlock after twelve minutes before making it 2-0 five minutes before the interval. Then Ba gave away a soft penalty which many disagreed with, but Walters nonetheless stepped up and converted it, making it 2-1 with fifteen minutes left. But then Newcastle were awarded a penalty of their own nine minutes from time; Huth with a little nudge on Best and Ba converted it to score his hat-trick. Final score 3-1 to the unbeaten Newcastle.
