City Back Top, Wolves in Bottom Three

Super Sunday was hosted in the West Midlands with two games concerning both ends of the table. Molineux was the first destination as Wolves faced West Brom in the Black Country derby. Peter Odemwingie fired the visitors ahead on 34-minutes before Steven Fletcher equalised against the run of play just before half-time. Although Wolves played better in the second half, they still somehow managed to capitulate. Jonas Olsson made it 2-1 on 64-minutes before Odemwingie scored his second 13-minutes later latching onto a scrambled corner. Keith Andrews fired Albion 4-1 ahead with a deflected shot from outside the box on 85-minutes with Odemwingie getting his hat-trick to round off a sorry performance for Wolves with two minutes remaining. Wolves now fall into the relegation zone on goal difference.

Villa Park was the venue for the second instalment as Aston Villa hosted Manchester City. City dominated the game throughout as Villa's home form continued to diminish. The only goal of the game came from Villa's Achilles heel with Joleon Lescott scoring from a corner to put City back to the top of the table.
