2013 UK Open Rounds Prelim-Two

Preliminary Round

Robbie Green 2-5 James Wade: The two time UK Open Champion begins his campaign despite initially losing the opening leg against the qualifier. Three legs on the spin secured The Machine's passage.
Vincent Van Der Voort 5-4 Andy Murray: The out of sorts Dutchman scraped through to the first round proper. Van Der Voort was 2-0 down before he won a leg with his 10th dart at the double. Murray forced a decider which the Dutchman managed to win.

First Round

Conan Whitehead 5-4 Roland Scholten: The 2004 UK Open Champion is knocked out by the 27-year old qualifier from Gillingham. Scholten lead 3-1 and 4-2 before missing two match darts in the seventh leg. Whitehead then took the following two legs to go through.
James Hubbard 5-2 John Scott: The 2012 Youth World Champion progresses after a relatively good performance. Hubbard took the first three legs before Scott secured a 107-checkout to make it 4-2. Hubbard took the next leg to avoid a comeback.
Mark Lawrence 5-4 Mensur Suljovic: The Austrian thrower is somewhat surprised by Lawrence. Checkouts of 114 and 110 turned the game on its head to give Lawrence a 3-2 lead. Suljovic did manage to force a decider which Lawrence won.
Darrell Thorpe 0-5 Stephen Bunting: The BDO number one secured the first whitewash on the main stage and could be a real one to watch out for, don't be fooled by the fact he had to qualify to get here.
Dave Weston 5-4 Dean Winstanley: The first real big name falls as the Bristol thrower took out 112 to go through.

Justin Pipe 2-5 Gareth Pass: The world number ten exits at the first round at the hands of The Passmaster from Stoke.

Second Round

Ricky Sudale 4-5 Richie Burnett: The 1995 Lakeside World Champion progresses after a tough match against 'Elvis'. Burnett levelled the match with a 102-checkout before taking a 3-1 lead. That became 3-3 before Sudale equalised again to force a deciding leg which the Welshman would win to go through.
Kevin Dowling 1-5 Phil Taylor: The 16-time World Champion began his campaign with a 101.86 average. a 124-checkout from Taylor made it 3-0 before Dowling prevented the whitewash in the fourth leg.
Matthew Edgar 5-4 Colin Osborne: The former wrestler takes out Ozzy in a match all about missed doubles. Osborne was 4-2 in front and missed three match darts in the eighth leg. That forced a deciding leg which Edgar won to go through.
Ted Hankey 5-1 Dave Weston: The Count returns from his stroke to make it through to the second day. A 120-checkout from Weston prevented the whitewash in the fifth leg as Hankey strolled through.
