The other 'Super Sunday' match saw the unstoppable Chelsea take on Blackpool at Stamford Bridge. The game was over before it had started when Kalou netted from a corner after just two minutes. Malouda continued his fine goalscoring form just ten minutes to put the game beyond all doubt already and making it look like a rout was on the cards. Drogba added a third thanks to a wicked deflection on the half hour mark and Malouda netted his second four minutes from time. Blackpool held on in the second half and could have netted a consolation but the the score remained 4-0 to Chelsea.
The only other match today took place at the DW Stadium where Wigan took on Manchester City. Carlos Tevez gave City the lead two minutes before half time and Yaya Toure sealed the victory twenty minutes from time.
