After bad weather postponed qualifying yesterday in the Japanese Grand Prix, today proved to be a hectic one with qualifying and racing in the same day. Here's the result:
1.Vettel (Red Bull), 2.Webber (Red Bull), 3.Alonso (Ferrari), 4.Button (McLaren), 5.Hamilton (McLaren), 6.Schumacher (Mercedes), 7.Kobayashi (Sauber), 8.Heidfeld (Sauber), 9.Barrichello (Williams), 10.Buemi (Toro Rosso), 11.Alguersuari (Toro Rosso), 12.Kovalainen (Lotus), 13.Trulli (Lotus), 14.Glock (Virgin), 15.Senna (Hispania), 16.Yamamoto (Hispania), 17.Rosberg (Mercedes) Retired: Sutil (Force India), Kubica (Renault), Hulkenberg (Williams), Massa (Ferrari), Petrov (Renault), Liuzzi (Force India), Di Grassi (Virgin).
This leaves Webber still in first place on 220 points but is only 14 points ahead of both Alonso and now teammate Vettel. Hamilton is now 28 points behind and needs to win a race with Webber not scoring and the others to also drop points, Button has the slightest of hopes left on 189, a further three points behind.
