Clock Strikes Twelve For Dolan
Phil 'The Power' Taylor ended Ireland's fairytale by beating Brendan Dolan and winning the World Grand Prix for a tenth time in his career. Dolan started great by winning the opening leg but that would be the only leg he would win in that set. Taylor then quickly made it 2-0 with a whitewash to stamp his authority on the game. Dolan did make it 2-1 with a 3-1 victory but then Taylor won the crucial deciding leg to make it 3-1. There were two more deciding legs; Dolan made it 3-2 before Taylor again extended his lead when it could have been equal. Taylor then went to within one of victory with a 3-1 win in the seventh set but Dolan wasn't finished and made 5-3 via yet another deciding leg. Taylor then won the match in the ninth set with a 3-1 scoreline to make it 6-3 and win the crown.
