PL Round-Up 4/2/12

Arsenal 7-1 Blackburn: Arsenal have waited four games for this and boy did they make sorry Blackburn pay. Robin Van Persie began the demolition after just two minutes, although Morten Gamst Pedersen did equalise just after the half-hour mark. Van Persie was on the score-sheet again seven minutes before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made it 3-1 with five minutes still play of the first half. If Blackburn's second half task wasn't tough enough, Gael Givet received a straight red two minutes from half-time to just make Steve Kean's team-talk just that bit harder. Mikel Arteta continued Arsenal's rampant mood with the forth just six minutes after the restart. Oxlade-Chamberlain scored his second of the match just three minutes later with Van Persie securing his hat-trick on 62-minutes. Blackburn's embarrassment was completed in injury time with Thierry Henry scoring his first Premiership goal since his return.

Norwich 2-0 Bolton: Norwich move into the top half of the table as Bolton slide into the relegation zone. Andrew Surman gave Norwich the lead with 20-minutes left to play. Anthony Pilkington ensured Norwich of the points with five minutes remaining.

Wigan 1-1 Everton: Everton slip out of the top half of the table as Wigan move to within two points of Blackburn. Phil Neville put the ball past Tim Howard on 76-minutes to give Wigan the lead. Victor Anichebe saved his captain's blushes with the equaliser seven minutes from time.

West Brom 1-2 Swansea: Swansea leapfrog West Brom after coming from behind to win at The Hawthornes. Marc-Antoine Fortune gave West Brom the lead nine minutes into the second half. But their jubilance was short lived as Gylfi Sigurdsson scored his first Swansea goal just one minute later. Danny Graham made it 2-1 just before the hour mark to secure the three points.

QPR 1-2 Wolves: Mick McCarthy's side finally move out of the relegation zone with a crucial away win. Bobby Zamora put the hosts in front on his debut after 16-minutes. Djibril Cisse also scored on his debut last week but found himself sent off on his first home appearance 11-minutes from half-time. Wolves took full advantage as Matt Jarvis equalised just a minute into the second half with Kevin Doyle scoring the winner with 19-minutes left.

Stoke 0-1 Sunderland: Martin O'Neill's fantastic spell continues as Sunderland go five points behind Liverpool. Robert Huth was sent off on half-time for the hosts and the young talent, James McClean, won the game on the hour mark.

Manchester City 3-0 Fulham: City throw the gauntlet down to United with the Red Devils facing Chelsea tomorrow. Sergio Aguero put City ahead after just ten minutes with a penalty. Chris Baird then deflected the ball into his own net to make it 2-0 on the half-hour mark, Edin Dzeko rounded the match off on 72-minutes.
