2012/2013 Capital One Cup Quarter Final (and a Rescheduled Premiership Match)

Swansea 1-0 Middlesbrough: Premiership side seals its place in the semi-finals after knocking out the Championship team. It wasn't as easy as that though and it took a Middlesbrough player to seal the win. Seb Hines put the ball into his own net with only nine minutes remaining.

Bradford 1-1 Arsenal AET (Bradford win 3-2 on penalties): Bradford secure an amazing shock victory to put themselves into the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup. Garry Thompson began the shock with a goal after 16-minutes. Arsenal missed a load of chances before finally forcing extra time, courtesy of Thomas Vermaelen two minutes from the end. The teams couldn't be separated in extra time and the dreaded penalties had to settle it. Santi Cazorla had his penalty saved before Marouane Chamakh hit the post, leaving Bradford 2-0 ahead. Arsenal were given a lifeline when Wojiech Szczesny saved Ritchie Jones' effort a 3-2. But Vermaelen would hit the post and gift Bradford the win.

Norwich 1-4 Aston Villa: Paul Lambert returns to his old stomping ground and produces a fantastic result. It didn't start that way as Norwich took the lead through Steve Morison on 19-minutes. But their lead would only last for two minutes as Brett Holman equalised for Villa. Andreas Weimann virtually won the game for Villa with 11-minutes left before making sure with his second and Villa's third five minutes from time. The icing on the cake came from Christian Benteke who added a fourth in injury time.

Premiership

Sunderland 3-0 Reading: Sunderland take all three points in this rescheduled basement battle. It is a win that boosts them up to 15th but still only a point from relegation while Reading are now six points from safety and in real trouble. James McClean opened the scoring after just three minutes before Steven Fletcher scored his seventh of the season on 28-minutes. The points were well and truly wrapped up when Stephane Sessegnon added their third in the depths of second half injury time.
