From Russia With Dzagoev

Russia blast themselves to the top of Group A with an emphatic victory over Czech Republic. Despite having the best start, the Czechs found themselves 1-0 down after 15-minutes when Aleksandr Kerzhakov's header came back off the post for Alan Dzagoev to smash home.

Andrei Arshavin had one his better games, being instrumental in the mid-field. He played the ball through to Roman Shirokov who chipped the ball over Petr Cech, to make it 2-0 nine minutes later.

Czech Republic came back into it in the second half and Vaclav Pilar rounded Vyacheslav Malafeev to make it 2-1 seven minutes after the restart. Within five minutes of coming on, Roman Pavlyuchenko made an immediate impact; picking out Dzagoev to score his second of the night on 77-minutes. Pavlyuchenko then put himself on the scoresheet with a mazy run into the box before smashing a shot past Cech with nine minutes left.
