2011/2012 Barcaly's Premiership Predictions: Tottenham

Transfers In: Friedel (Villa, free)
Overview: Tottenham haven't strengthened the squad so far this season and it may pay a heavy price. They have been in a huge battle to keep Modric and so far they've stuck to their guns. But Tottenham will be in the same boat as Arsenal, if they leave it to the last week to sell Modric to Chelsea they won't have enough time to find a suitable replacement. It could be a tough season for Tottenham and their pre-season hasn't been superb either.
Euro 2012/Stars of the Future: Huddlestone, Jenas and Lennon have all held temporary England places and would surely like to maintain them. Dawson, Crouch and Defoe are the more likely to feature in Euro 2012. Danny Rose looked impressive in the Carling Cup last season, whereas Kyle Walker impressed at Villa, both could be England prospects. Young Brazilian Sandro also impressed against Chelsea. Giovani will be a star for Mexico, but not at Spurs.
One's to Watch: Van Der Vaart and Bale are the obvious candidates but the young stars will be a good watch too.
Prediction: Should be fighting for Champions League but without any strengthening, I fear Tottenham may miss out.
