2011/2012 Barclay's Premiership Predictions: Liverpool

Transfers In: Doni (Roma), Downing (Villa, £20M), Adam (Blackpool, £8.4M), Henderson (Sunderland, £14.5M)
Overview: Liverpool have had a poor pre-season and need to counter that for the start of the league. The dilemma for Dalglish is his over-abundance in mid-field. Liverpool have brought in Downing, Henderson and Adam, but Liverpool already have decent mid-fielders in the shape of Lucas, Raul Meireles and Maxi Rodriguez. Gerrard is out for the first couple of months but he will increase this dilemma when he returns. With Carragher getting ever older, Liverpool are missing decent defenders and miss the combination of Carragher and Hyppia.
Euro 2012/Stars of the Future: Johnson, Gerrard, Cole, Downing and Carroll have all been involved under Capello. Henderson will be looking to make the step up from U21 level. Shelvy was bought as a future star but Spearing and Kelly have all looked pretty decent so far.
One's To Watch: Suarez will have a big season this season. We all need to keep an eye on the mid-field battle to see who will get games. Carroll also needs to perform as his price-tag demands.
Prediction: On paper look good enough to challenge for the Champions League place. But based on pre-season they may not have the edge yet. They should finish fourth or fifth to have had a decent season.
