Transfers In: De Gea (A.Madrid, £18M), Young (Villa, £16M), Jones (Blackburn, £16M)
Overview: Winners of the Charity Shield, United had a fantastic pre-season including a 2-1 win over Barcelona. The difference with United is that they have another young looking team waiting to perform and are favourites to retain the Premiership. I don't rate Young high enough and don't think he should be wearing Scholes' number. Despite his mistake in the Shield, De Gea has looked promising as has Lindegaard in the battle to replace Van Der Sar. The niggle I had with Jones was his price tag for a player that will probably be on the bench more often than not, but he is a talent.
Euro 2012/Stars of the Future: Ferdinand, Rooney and Young have all played their roles for England. Jones, Smalling, Cleverley and Welbeck will all be hunting down a place in the future as they step up from the U21s. Macheda has also looked bright on his return from Sampdoria.
One's To Watch: Hernandez will be looking to emulate his efforts last season when he returns from his bout of concussion. All the young players will have to be watched.
Prediction: Favourite's for the league in my opinion.
