Chouchi Drunk On Korena: Algeria 0-1 Slovenia 13/6/10
Algeria line-up: Chaouchi, Bougherra, Belhadj, Yahia (c), Halliche, Lacen, Dejebbour (Ghezzal, 58'), Matmour (Saifi, 81'), Ziani, Yebda, Kadir (Guediora, 82')
Slovenia line-up: Handanovic, Brecko, Suler, Cesar, Koren (c), Birsa (Pecnik, 84'), Novakovic, Jokic, Dedic (Ljubijankic, 53'), Kirm, Radoslavljevic (Komac, 87')
Another that won't be remembered after this World Cup has finished. The only thing that may be remembered in this match is Chaouchi's Green-esque mistake that gave Robert Koren the winner for Slovenia. Neither team really passed the ball well and Handanovic pulled off some very decent saves to keep the Algerians out.
Algeria's discipline was proven to be poor again after Ghezzal managed to pick-up two yellow cards in the space of fifteen minutes after coming on for Dejebbour. Their best player was Nadir Belhadj who looked dangerous coming from left-back. He also managed to produce the first free-kick that required a goalkeeper to save the dubious Jabulani ball.
Chaouchi did make a few saves in the match but Slovenia didn't seem to be able to make any attack come to anything or indeed take advantage of having a man extra on the field. This game was most definitely heading to a 0-0 until Chaouchi's howler which provided the only real footballing entertainment. You it isn't a good match if the crowd decide to perform a Mexican Wave just twenty minutes into the match. However Slovenia can celebrate that they are now on top of Group C for now.
