Today was the day Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain went from a boy into a man, not being a watcher of La Liga I didn't know what the fuss was about with Higuain. But today he showed why Real Madrid are so keen to keep him . Messi also performed today with a hand in all four goals to keep his argument for being the best in the world. Argentina were too hot to handle and a quarter of an hour into the game Angel Di Maria was brought down in a good position for Argentina. Messi whipped the free-kick in and Park Chu-Yong produced a striker's finish in the wrong net for Argentina. Korea weren't out of it just yet as they battled back but a 32nd free-kick whipped by Tevez was met by Higuain for his first due to poor defending by the Asian side. However just before half-time it was Argentina's turn to lack defensively as they let Bolton's Lee Chung Yong in who finished smartly to make it 2-1 at half time.
Any hopes of a Korean turn around were heightened when Park played Yeom in but unfortunately for them couldn't equalise. Those heightened hoped were doused in remarkable circumstances in the 76th minute. Messi and Higuain played a neat one-two and Messi forced a decent parry from Jung. However the parry went straight back to Messi who tried again, Jung saved it onto the post and it somehow crept to Higuain who tapped in his second. The game was over but the action wasn't as Messi put Aguero through down the wing, he crossed the ball into an awaiting Higuain who notched his hat-trick and well and truly put Argentina into the next round.
